We Like Stuff

one weekend:

friday was officially everyone from design schools last day at uni so of course the massey bar was packed with people. I joined and had a few beers. I called up work who were kind enough to give me the night off so I could have a few more beers. We all went round to Juliets flat. Later on lots more people came and it turned in to a fully fleged party. There were lots of good cats and we all had fun, and lots of people finally got to sample the nargila I'd been talking about so much. We all went out to town splitting off to various bars. I took a house key for the girls flat. Once I was over town I went back to their house and jumped in to a girl katies bed to sleep. (no dodgey thoughts. I was there to sleep and maybe spoon, but thats it.) Anyway, it just happened that she bought a boy home that night. She obviously sent him up to her room and said she'd be up soon. he turned on the light to find a half naked boy already in her bed. Funniest thing I've ever seen. He just bailed back down the stairs. she came in cracking up and I offered to move beds. I then moved in to juliets bed. Just as I'd got to sleep she came home with another girl makarena (once again, no dodgey thoughts, we were there to sleep). So the 3 of us piled in to the bed. Then juliet started giggling. For some reason it was amazingly amusing that there were 3 in the bed, and perhaps she was boozed. Anyway, she couldnt stop, and then just as she was winding down she knocked a glass of water over on the bedside table. Of course this was twice as funny as 3 people being in the bed so the giggle fest started again. She refilled the glass of water and got back in to bed giggling. Once again as she was winding down, she managed to knock the glass of water over again. By this time I kid you not, it was almost half an hour of solid laughing, maybe even 45 mins. I dont think i've ever seen anyone laugh that long. it was amazing.

And she laughed all night
in the covers of your bed, oh we'll be fine
and she said goodbye
another year pulled through and we're alright
And I don't mind, if we dont get no sleep at all tonight.

After waking up at 7:30 am to a little more giggling I drove to richies where we fed on a fry up before driving to mastertron to pick up the 74 belmont HQ colour rust. Rich and I donned the HQ with much domination as 2 awesome boys with a large 70's car with bench seat and column shift auto only would. Mr B was kind enough to install a cd player with good speakers as well as an LPG tank which not only made riding awesome but cheap. We drove to Napier where we attended my friend Sarahs 21st. It was one sweet night with cool people and much shaking of ass on richards behalf. We took the HQ through the mcd's drive through for breakfast (compulsory) before saying goodbye to everyone and driving home.

I came home to attend the brooke fraser concert that night. Concerts are silly to go on about as you have to be there but it was everything expected and more. Her new drummer rips, and she is the prettyest thing to come out of the NZ Music industry as well as awesome.

in conclusion. Juliet wins again, when there are 2 boys in one cool HQ everything is awesome, and driving becomes more important than the destination, and finally, I still wanna marry brooke fraser.

The L&P job just gets better and better.

on wednesday once again we got asked to do another L&P promotion this time in wellington to promote the L&P dry 91zm great caravan race. On tuesday we picked up a rental van which neither of us were licenced to drive (since we weren't 21) but since we werent paying they just put the excess up a few thousand and let us loose. On wed morning I got up at 5:30am (the earliest I've got up in so long) and we loaded the van with 20 cases of L&P and a trolley thing. we drove in to town and met up on kent terrace with all the caravans and the zm people. the game is that 5 teams have to hitch hike from invergargill to    whangarei and back to auckland with caravans. so basically they have to get people to tow them. They counted "3, 2, 1, GO!" and you all expect something epic to happen, and everyone runs out to kent tce, and just holds out their thumbs, and then waits. supprisingly all 4 caravans (oh yea, 1 got written off when it smashed in to a bridge leaving only 4) got rides within 5 minutes, one being towed by a taxi to palmy free of charge. So then we just walk round wellington with a trolley full of L&P giving it away and taking photos of stoked people. The jobs the opposite to a parking warden in where you get paid to make peoples days awesome opposed to complete shit. We gave out lots on oriental in the sun before moving in to the inner city. My favourite was when I went in to colorado surf shop and gave 2 to the hottest girl in wellington behind the counter, then walked round, leant against the counter, and got a photo with her and then just cruised out again all low key. I also liked the one where we gave a whole bakery drinks and they gave us a huge box of sausage rolls. basically I got paid $100 for 4 hours work and got half a case of L&P and free sausage rolls. Amen.

Also, richard and I (richards a guy who used to blog here) are going road tripping to my friends 21'st in napier this weekend. it will be neat, and then I'm coming back on sunday and going to brooke fraser on sunday night. I cant wait.
